Laser Hair Removal in sports
Laser hair removal in sports is more popular than you might think. Athletes, whether you're an amateur or competitive, you may encounter hair/skin complications.
The prep that goes into your sport outside the physical side is more important than people realise. The time and dedication is not often seen, laser hair removal for a lot of sports can lighten the prep load to help you focus more on why you got into the sport to begin with.
Bodybuilders
Shaving before every competition to then apply fake tan to enhance the contours of your muscles, its a lot of work, but it’s worth it to look incredible on stage showing off all your hard work. I’m no bodybuilder but I do dabble with some fake tan, the prep before the application means everything.
No hair means no shaving rash, no ingrown hairs, smooth skin, easier fake tan application better results. Not to mention no having to do the ‘everything shave’ in the shower each time you shower.
Swimmers
I won’t sit here trying to be clever and talk about aerodynamics, theres many studies online for some light bed time reading to explain that hair removal reduces active drag, therefore enhancing your performance. So I’ll leave that to the scientists. But what I will say is if you take out the time it takes to shave your whole body, then remove the rashes and painful ingrown hairs from Speedos… how much more could you focus on the swimming side of the sport than the hairy side.
Cyclists
Lycra. Not the prettiest, not the comfiest, and definitely an ingrown hairs favorite outfit. Tight clothes, sweat and heat are the main causes for ingrown hairs. They are painful to remove, and sometimes leave a mark. Hair pulling is another lycra dish best served cold. Cycling shorts aren’t the most glamorous to put on, adding in the material pulling hair out from your legs is a whole other story. Save yourself the pain and the hassle, cut ties on those hairs.
